SNAICC
In 1981, the first ever SNAICC Conference was held, at which a "Statement of Purpose" was formulated. Since then, through the provision of advice and activism, SNAICC has helped guide the development of policies and programs by government and non-government sector, for the achievement of better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Link-Up NSW
Link-Up NSW was the first of many Link-Up services established by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who had been directly affected by past policies and practices of child removal. They focus particularly on family tracing and helping families to reunite. Link-Up organisations and programs have subsequently been established in each State and Territory around Australia, except the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. Coral Edwards and Peter Read were instrumental in Link-Up’s establishment.

Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme (ACT, NT)
The Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme (ACT, NT) is a financial and wellbeing package for Stolen Generations survivors removed from their families in the Northern Territory, ACT, or Jervis Bay. Applications to the scheme are open between 1 March 2022 and 28 February 2026.
National Apology to Stolen Generations
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd offered a formal apology to Australia's Indigenous people, particularly the Stolen Generations, on behalf of the Australian Parliament.
NTSGAC (NT)
The Northern Territory Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation (NTSGAC) was established to provide support, services, information and advocacy for Stolen Generations and their families in the NT. It provides direct support for Stolen Generations and their families, inter-generational healing and identity strengthening activities, information about national issues for individuals, and monitors the implementation of the Bringing Them Home Report. NTSGAC is part of the National Link Up Network.
The Native Union (WA)
The Native Union was formed by Aboriginal activists in WA, led by William Harris. Its aim was “to secure equality for Aborigines in all spheres of West Australian cultural and social life”, through the establishment of cultural centres with educational facilities in metropolitan and country areas.
Colebrook Blackwood Reconciliation Park (SA)
Colebrook Home was a children's institution in South Australia for Aboriginal children. Colebrook Reconciliation Park, at one of the institution's former sites, is a memorial to the children and families who were separated through sending children to Colebrook Home. Two statues - “the Fountain of Tears” and the “Grieving Mother” - have been created and installed there.
Bringing Them Home Report
A critically important text that paved the way for recognition of the Stolen Generations - the thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children removed from their families over generations of colonisation in Australia. It was written by the Australian Human Rights Commission as the Final Report of the “National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families”, which was the culmination of many years of advocacy by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander activists and survivors.
